Question 3
Now you need to analyse the writer's use of structure
You need to look at: 1) The (narrative) perspective of the text(what?) 2) The organisation and use of time (when?) 3) The location and setting (where?) 4) Characters and how they are introduced (who?) 5) The different patterns within the text, and elements of syntax or cohesion that help to create/reinforce meaning (how?) |
Question 4
This question requires you to form and express an opinion, and back it up with ideas from the text
It requires a judgement to be made by you, as a reader, and requires you to support your ideas through textual references. The statement prompts the reader to take a view about the writer’s intended impact and influence on them, and in doing so requires consideration of form and purpose ...in particular, the extent to which the writer successfully draws the reader into the world of the text. |
